The last Peau-Bleue eco-volunteering mission in Nosy Be (North-Western Madagascar) ended on May 7th, 2011. Our team was made up of 16 divers, and was joined by two Malagasy scientists.
We censused a total of 335 different fish species in the area, including 229 species in Nosy Tanikely, and 246 species in Nosy Fanihy (in 2002, in the same sites, an international scientific team recorded 154 and 140 species respectively).
We are proud of the terrific job done by the volunteers. Congratulations! We also deeply thank the scientists from the Malagasy National Oceanographic Research Center (CNRO) for their welcome, and for taking part in the field work. Our thanks also to Tropical Diving, Gérard and Francine, and to Blue Lagoon.
