This documents reports on the actions and results of the RHIZOMA project concerning seahorses and pipefishes (Syngnathidae). The report was issued by Peau-Bleue, the scientific partner of the project.
This report was made by Damien Grima during his mission on Arcachon Bay seahorses in relation with the Arcachon Bay Marine Natural Park project (in partnership with Peau-Bleue). It provides a synthesis of the available information on the two seahorse species occurring in the area.
This 5 year pilot survey involved a lot of people and energy around the Thau lagoon: schoolchildren and their teachers, divers, fishermen and shellfish farmers, associations and official local organisations all participated in this unique participatory science project.
